Hey, what’s up, everybody? Today I’m going to review the Bullrock Fitness Magnetic Barbell Locks in India.
These are Rs 1,516 on Bullrock’s Amazon page, and I’m going to share what I like about them, what I don’t like, and whether I think you should buy them.
So first of all, what are these? Why would you even buy them? They’re magnetic, which means they’re designed to stick to your rack.
Why is that cool? Well, it’s convenient.
For example, I’ve got some regular plastic clips here. I have to put them somewhere when they’re not in use.
Honestly, that’s not a huge inconvenience, but some people like having them right on the rack, ready to grab.
That’s where these magnetic clips shine—they stick really well.
I’ve tested them on multiple racks: my SFhealthtech Wall Rack. They all work fine.
A few people online mentioned that they may not stick to all racks, like some clear-coated models, but I can’t verify that. For my racks, they stick perfectly.
The magnets hold securely, but they’re not impossible to remove. You can even toss them at the rack, and they’ll stick. So if you’re looking for magnetic functionality, yes—they do their job.
Design and Diameter
One thing I noticed is how thin they are compared to generic Amazon clips (which you can get for like Rs 200). These are literally half the diameter.
Why is thin good?
I tested these on an ATE Stainless Steel Bar and a Siege Fitness Power Bar in India. They fit both bars snugly.
Here’s something interesting: the way they fit now versus when I first got them is totally different. When I first got them, I couldn’t snap them onto a bar without gloves because it was so tight.
It literally hurt my hands—like the sting you get from hitting a baseball or golf ball wrong. I was very disappointed initially because I thought they were too tight.
Also, when opening them for the first time, it felt like a double motion—you had to open them partway, then open them again. It was awkward.
After about a week of repeated use—clamping them on bars—the plastic stretched a bit, and now I can snap them on and off with one hand.
They’re still tight, but in a good way: they won’t slide off during lifts.
Fit on All Bars
I’ve tried these on multiple barbells, including speciality bars like axle bars and the safety squat bar. They fit everything.
Being super tight is actually beneficial when you want the clip close to the edge to handle more weight.
If they feel too tight, you could lightly sand the rubber to make them easier to snap on, but overall, the tight fit is a positive.
I searched online, and lots of people echo my experience: they work well but are very tight at first.
Pros:
Cons:
If I were to rate them out of 5 stars, I’d give them 3.9–4.0 stars.
I deducted a star because of the tight initial fit that required a week of “breaking in,” but after that, they work as intended.
If you’re looking for thin, magnetic, and tight clips that fit on all bars (which are 2 inches), these will do the job.
Just be prepared for that initial tightness, and maybe consider a colour or marking so you don’t lose track of them on your rack.
Honestly, even though I’ve tried other clips, I use these 100% of the time unless I need two bars and two clamps. They’re that good once you get past the initial learning curve.
So, should you buy them? Totally up to you. If you want magnetic, tight-fitting clips that stay put and save space on your bar, these fit the bill. – Buy here.
All right, that’s it for my review.
Yes. If you frequently drop bars, you’ll need collars designed to stay secure under impact—such as clamp, screw-lock, or competition collars. On the other side, some cheap spring collars found on Amazon can loosen or fail during heavy or high-impact lifts.
Common types include:
Magnetic collars provide additional grip on the steel sleeve, making them especially convenient for quick plate changes. However, for heavy lifts, they should be paired with a secure clamp mechanism kind of bar locks to ensure maximum safety for a LIFTER.
