One of the reasons why callisthenics is so amazing as a training method is that it doesn't require you to buy callisthenics equipment India.
However, having calisthenics equipment for home allows you to do much more exercise and makes your workouts far more comprehensive.
If you’re thinking about building your own home gym, I am aware of the fact that everyone starts from a different level and has different training goals and training styles, so whether something is going to be useful or not is rather subjective.😀
➡️ However, I’m going to pick the calisthenics equipment online India that in my opinion is the best way to spend money for an average joe.
The order of mention is going to reflect my recommendation on the order of purchase, with the first one being the most useful and worth spending your money on.
👉 This is simply the best piece of equipment you can get, as far as I’m concerned.
GOCART WITH G LOGO Nonslip Carbon Steel Doorway Pull-up Bar
The most important thing is going to be something that allows you to hang. There are no good ways of training pulling movements without hanging, so it is essential.
There are many different kinds and which one is the best for you depending on your housing situation.
The simplest and the cheapest pull-up bar looks like this: there are screws at both ends which expand as you rotate it. 😄
It’s very easy to set up but has a couple of issues. You have to have a door frame that makes it possible to install the bar. I’ve seen door frames that were too thin for this element and the bar wouldn’t hold good enough.
Another thing that you need to take into consideration is how sturdy the door frame and the wall are. If you want the bar to hold really well you need to screw it in really strongly. This creates massive forces that can easily crack thinner walls or damage the door frame.
On the other hand, if the bar isn’t screwed in properly, it won’t hold your weight and you’re risking taking damage.
Wearslim Professional Gymnastic Rings | Roman Rings
The single best callisthenics-related investment that you can make is gymnastic rings. You can get a pair for as little as Rs 1000 and considering all the possibilities they give you nothing comes even close to being as good of a purchase.
No matter if you’re a complete beginner or an advanced athlete, you can use gymnastic rings India to train pretty much your whole body. If you want to do callisthenics at home, you can hang them on the pull-up bar although the best option is to drill a couple of hooks into the ceiling.
If you mount the Rings this way, you don’t even need a pull-up bar.
This minimalistic setup is sufficient to be the only thing in your home gym, as it allows you to train your whole body. As for which rings to choose, just go for the ones made out of wood, because they offer a better grip than the plastic ones.
👉 The Rings vary in thickness. The most popular being 30 and 32 millimeters thick I’ve used both of them and there’s not much, difference but getting the 30 millimeter one should be the best choice.
Gymnastic rings inspired a number of suspension systems, with TRX being the most popular one. Although they offer the same functionality of rings and even slightly improve on it. I would never choose a TRX suspension trainer over a pair of rings because TRX is also way overpriced, costing on average three times more than the Rings. 😀
I have made a blog comparing the two, gymnastic rings vs TRX suspension trainer if you are interested but the gist of it is that gymnastic rings are better.
Anyway, I bought my rings a long time ago, and they still are my favorites, that’s why I put them first on the list. On some level, they substitute for parallel bars, push-up bars, ab wheel, pull up bar and probably a lot more.
If you have to choose one thing you’ll get, that’s the way to go.
Parallettes Dip Bars Push Up for Calisthenics
The next calisthenics accessory that’s worth your money is parallettes. There are many different types and some make more sense than others. For example, these small plastic ones are a waste of money in my opinion.
All they offer is a different grip, but unless you have some kind of wrist injury, you should be able to do everything with your hands on the floor.
The grip is usually uncomfortable because it’s too thin.
It’s the most noticeable when doing handstands they’re not very stable either, if you want to get paralyzed that actually gives you some additional features, you should go for higher ones.
You can do all the same exercises as with the small ones, but they have extra features.
You can do handstand push-ups in full range, go really deep when doing push-ups and if you place them on top of a couple of chairs, you can even do dips.
Equalizer Dip Bars Stand, Dip Station for Pull Ups, & Parallel Bars.
These are actually very similar to push-up bars, but are superior to them. I made them myself and have fixed all the issues the push-up bars have had.
They have wider and longer bars and are more stable. This makes them more suitable for handstand training. I recommend making them on your own, as it’s easy, cheap and the final product is often better than the store-bought one.
👉 It is probably the most obvious thing to get when starting bodyweight training. It can be used for pull-ups, levers, and much more. The doorway pull-up bar needs a specific door frame to work, but allows you to mount it on any height.
This way you can use it for a wide range of exercises. Having two bars lets you do even more exercise. Human flag, for example. 💨
At some point, basic exercises get too easy for you and you’d like to make it more difficult.
SLOVIC Resistance Tube Band India with Sturdy Handles
👉 The next type of product that I think is worth your money to buy callisthenics equipment India is Resistance bands. Just like the gymnastic rings, they’re very useful for both beginners and the more advanced.
They work best for making the exercises easier and are a great help in learning the basics such as pull-ups or dips as well as the more advanced skills. 😀
The bands are also very useful for warming up. The possibilities are countless, limited only by your creativity. The most useful sizes for the majority of people will be the purple and the black band. These are the must-haves of training callisthenics at home.
I don’t think you can regret buying any of them because they are useful in so many ways if you have all of them.
Kobo Adjustable Weighted Vest PRO Unisex
Weight vest, if you want to train weighted calisthenics sooner or later, you’re going to need a weight belt and some real weights.
They are a very easy and convenient way to do so. It’s very comfortable and can be used for numerous exercises.
I use it mostly for basic ones like pull-ups, push-ups, and dips. A 10 kg vest is the most useful one in my opinion. Over 10 kilograms tend to get clunky and not very comfortable.
And you don’t get super hot after training for 10 minutes as in the vest, so if you feel like training with added weights, I recommend getting a belt over a vest.
This is yet another way of adding weight and increasing the difficulty of an exercise. Use them mostly for ab workouts – toes to bars and L-sits in particular.
However, they can also successfully be used in addition to weight vests for pull-ups or dips.
This is another piece of equipment I made myself. Few years back, I was very focused on getting the iron cross skill.
I saw them on the internet and replicated it as well as I could. They are great for developing strength needed for iron cross very steadily.😀
You can adjust the difficulty by changing the support point.
They can also be used for practising other high-level gymnastic skills like planche, maltese and more.
One of my favorite ways to warm up is skipping rope. It raises the temperature of the body and prepares your joints for a more intense workout.
Ab wheel rollouts are great exercises that can build your abs, but also helps with static holds like dragon flag or front lever.
However, using a wheel isn’t the only way to do this exercise – you can use gymnastic rings as well. That’s why I’m not the biggest fan of the wheel.
And last but not least, handstand canes, as the name implies, are intended mostly for handstands, but can be used for a lot more.😀
Besides handstand work, I use them mostly to do dips inside the apartment.
As you can see, there is a lot of equipment to choose from for calisthenics, but again, you don’t need anything at all to start training.
👉 Of course, just because I didn’t put something on my list doesn’t mean that it’s a waste of money. Most of the calisthenic equipment India I recommended here is intended for very specific and has a very narrow use case.
Take these cross-trainers, for example. They are great if you want to learn the Iron Cross.
They are extremely useful for that, but if you get bored of training it or just simply change your goals, you will never use them for anything else and they could be considered a waste of money.
Despite having such an extensive collection of callisthenics equipment India I still do the majority of my workouts without any equipment.
Tell me in the comments below if you use any calisthenics equipment for home that I didn’t mention.
